BAE Systems Bofors has been awarded a framework agreement by the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) for its 40mm 3P ammunition.
The agreement enables NATO member nations to procure the ammunition through NSPA's framework, supporting a more streamlined and cost-effective acquisition process.
The Bofors 40mm 3P (Pre-fragmented, Programmable, Proximity-fused) ammunition is a flexible multi-purpose round designed to engage a wide range of threats, including drones, missiles, helicopters, swarming boats, surface vessels and land targets.
The ammunition is used with the Bofors 40 Mk4 naval gun system and the TRIDON Mk2 ground-based air defence system, providing operational flexibility across both maritime and land domains.
The framework agreement strengthens the availability of proven 40mm ammunition for NATO customers and supports allied operational readiness in an evolving threat environment.
